01 — Nostril vs Septum
Two piercings, two personalities.
Nostril
The classic — a stud or a ring on the curve of the nostril. Subtle with a flat-back stud, louder with a hoop. From $50, titanium included.
Septum
Through the soft spot below the cartilage — not through cartilage itself, which surprises most first-timers. And yes: with a retainer you can flip it up and hide it for work. From $50, titanium included.
Your piercer checks your anatomy first and places the jewelry where it actually sits right — not just where the dot looks good in a mirror.
02 — Jewelry
Healing jewelry first. Hoops later.
Fresh nostril piercings start with an implant-grade titanium flat-back stud — it gives swelling room and heals cleaner than a ring. Septums start with a circular barbell or retainer. Once you're healed, swap to whatever you want — hoops, gold, decorative tops.

Single-use everything.
The needle, the tube, the setup — sterile and single-use, opened in front of you before we start. Needles only, never guns. Minors are pierced only with a parent or legal guardian present and written consent.
How we keep it sterile →04 — Healing
What the first weeks look like.
Nostrils typically take a few months to settle before a jewelry change; septums are often quicker to calm down. You leave with a simple aftercare plan — what to clean with, what to leave alone — and if healing ever looks off, call the studio. That's what we're here for.

Questions, answered
How much does a nose piercing cost?
Nose piercings — nostril and septum — start at $50 at Foenix Ink, with implant-grade titanium jewelry included in the price. Most guests spend $70–$110 including jewelry.
Does a nose piercing hurt?
Honest answer: it's a few seconds of sharp pinch and watering eyes, then it's done. Our piercing team has done 2,914+ piercings — you're in practiced hands.
Can I hide a septum piercing for work?
Yes — a septum retainer flips up inside the nose and is effectively invisible. Ask for a retainer at your appointment if discretion matters, and we'll set you up with one from day one.
When can I change my nose stud to a hoop?
Not until it's healed — for nostrils that's typically a few months, and swapping early is the most common way people wreck a good piercing. Come back in and we'll check it and change the jewelry safely.
Do you pierce noses with a gun?
Never. We pierce with single-use needles only — piercing guns crush tissue, can't be properly sterilized, and have no business near a nose.
Can I get my nostril and septum pierced in the same visit?
Often, yes — nostril and septum together is a common combo and fits within the two-or-three-piercings-per-session guideline we recommend. Your piercer checks your anatomy first and will tell you honestly if today's the day for both.
